Quanza print without border
DSWT orphan-
Quanza’s mother and sisters were brutally killed for their ivory. "On October 28th 2012 poachers gunned down Amboseli’s famous female elephants from the ‘Q’ family. Qumquat, her daughter Quantina and Quaye were all targeted for their tusks and killed in a single attack. This infamous herd were photographed together just 24 hours before the senseless killing which left the youngest Quanza, orphaned with her other sibling, who sadly was never found. Quanza was still standing next to her mother when our team was called to rescue this tragic calf. Today Quanza remains guarded, but is slowly becoming more open with the Keepers and other orphans. Quanza is just one of many orphans who have been robbed of their family due to poaching and we continue to do all we can to ensure Kenya’s wild elephants remain safe where they so rightly belong."
A portion of net proceeds of Quanza giclée prints will go to The Orphans Project in order to support Quanza and her new family at DSWT.
